In addition to the “public” part of the event every day agreements were signed between the companies, meetings were held between government officials and the business community, and working groups gathered on various issues.
"The event turned out very productively. Our platform has helped companies that are interested in working together to reach each other much faster, find a common language and begin to interact immediately,” - deputy director of the Eastern Directorate of the Roscongress Foundation for industry projects, Evgeny Velkov, told our magazine. - We hope that our Forum will become a traditional event and will help both fishermen and businesses. This market is rather narrow and difficult to communicate within. We are trying to fix the situation.”
Simultaneously with the Forum, an exhibition of the fish industry, seafood and technology was held. It was organized by the industry operator Exposolutions group. The segments of fish capture and processing at the exhibition were presented by over than 70 companies. The activity of about 50 participants was related to the field of shipbuilding, ship repair, equipment manufacturing and fishing gear. Besides, aquaculture enterprises, manufacturers of feed and equipment for growing fish showed their production at the exhibition.
According to the general director of Exposolutions group, Ivan Fetisov, the exhibition aroused interest among the fishing community and was actively supported by government officials. Fishermen from different countries exchanged experiences, established business contacts, found new customers and partners.
“This is such a unique event where the state, business, and science really meet. Global issues are discussed here as well as more specific ones. Holding such an exhibition is very important for Russia as for the country that ranks fourth in the total catch.” - The deputy minister of Agriculture and the head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, Ilya Shestakov, told Fishery & Aquaculture.
